Description
Epilobium x ‘Stardust’ (Hummingbird Trumpet) (formerly Zauschneria) has great presence in a border, rock garden, or native plant garden. Narrow-leaved green foliage is covered in tubular orange flowers from summer to fall, a long season of bloom that feeds hummingbirds and butterflies. Plant in a full sun location in average to poor soil with good drainage. Water regularly for the first two years, especially during a dry winter to establish this plant. Thereafter it is a very waterwise addition to the garden. Native to the west coast of North America and east to New Mexico, Epilobium (formerly Zauschneria) is found on dry slopes and ridges from sea level to high altitude.
